Let’s make a day of it! The St. Louis Water Garden Society will be replanting the hardy lilies into the Jewel Box Lily Ponds on April 27th starting at 9:00 a.m. It’s time to get our hands dirty… in a good way! Won’t you join us?
This volunteer event is open to members, guests, and the public. Please come prepared for wet and dirty work with water shoes, quick-dry clothes, gloves, etc. A hat and sunscreen for UV protection is always a good idea. Bring a water bottle to stay hydrated. If you have planting tools – spade, extra work gloves, shovels, etc. – they are always needed.
Volunteers should arrive at 9 a.m. but can work whatever time best suits their schedule. We’ll take all the help we can get.
If you are a student or community group looking for volunteer hours, this is an excellent way to give back to the entire St. Louis area community while learning hands-on skills about the planting and care of the world-famous Jewel Box Lily Ponds.
This annual event is the start of our organization’s annual civic project. You can read more about it here.
